For Adults

Adults wishing to participate in a small-group learning session on Sunday mornings have many options.  Please stop by our Welcome Center for an up-to-date listing of class offerings.  Sharon offers long-term small groups you may join, as well as short-term studies on various topics of interest.  Most occur at 10:05 AM.  The Welcome Center is staffed Sunday mornings before and after all services, and church staff can assist you from Monday to Friday.

Current Adult Sunday School Classes:  


Aldridge—A class for adults from the mid-40's to mid-70's, using a combination of lecture and discussion.  The International lesson series is the main curriculum used by this class.  This class is an active support and fellowship group with organized social functions.

Christian Connections—This class of couples and singles of all ages is dedicated to encouraging personal growth in faith through Bible study, group discussion, and fellowship.  The class rotates teachers, and studies are chosen by class members.  Mission outreach opportunities and class socials occur on a regular basis.

Forum—Lessons that center on scripture and video presentations are the focus of this group of couples and singles.  Using topics related to everyday life issues, led by class members, this class is open to a wide range of ages.  This discussion class has officers and is involved in missions.Socials help unite this class.

McWhorter—The McWhorter class was the first Sunday School class launched when the church was organized in 1966.  Made up of mature adults, this Sunday School class emphasizes Bible-based topics.  Using the international lesson series, this class promotes strong fellowship and care for its members.  This care takes place through active socials and meaningful involvement in the life of the church.

Pathfinders—This adult class is designed for singles or couples in their 20's and 30's.  The class seeks to encourage growth in faith while strengthening community ties through fellowship, missions, and Bible study.  Classes are discussion based, and periodic social events and mission opportunities take place.

Sisters—A class for women that meets for study, reflection and support.  Knowing God, making God the main thing in my life.

Sharon has numerous other opportunities for discipleship, including:  Disciple Bible study classes, small group ministries, Wednesday evening study groups, and United Methodist Women's Circle groups.  We hope you will find a group to meet your needs, or consider starting a new one!
