| What Makes Our Weekday School Special? |
|
Small class sizes and child-to-teacher ratios: We feel that children are more secure and socialize better in small groups. Our children to teacher ratios are within the guidelines recommended by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). A wide variety of classroom activities: Each morning our teachers set up their classrooms into centers with new education activities. There are many opportunities for children to explore and learn about things that will interest them. Family-classroom interactions: Parents and family are always welcome at our school. We encourage parent involvement through conferences, committees, and social activities. We also value the daily contact between parents and teachers at the beginning and end of the school day. Specially-trained teachers and administrators: Our teachers are educated and experienced in the education of young children in accordance with developmentally-appropriate practices advocated by the NAEYC. Teachers and administrators then continue their education through regular workshops and other learning opportunities. |
